Reagin at the dentist

I am a very proud Mommy! She did excellent!!! They brushed her teeth, put pink stuff on them to show plaque, cleaned them, counted them, took X-rays and then Dr. Shields examined them. She has no cavities and he could see where her permanent teeth are coming in behind her baby teeth. He said her bite looked good and her permanent teeth coming in looked great! She was so so so good and cooperative, even when there were other BIG kids freaking out around her. It was like she didn’t even notice them! And of course was singing & dancing for everyone. Love her!! J They loaded her up with stickers and tattoos and a purple balloon. Then on the way back to school she got a Happy Meal, which made her very… well… HAPPY! J

Dear summer, bring it on!!

I am happy to report that I am 2 lbs away from my goal weight!!!

I can't wait to wear all those shorts, sundresses and swimsuits this summer!! Last year I was BIG pregnant and didn't even want to step foot outside it was so HOT!! I definitely wasn't wearing shorts or a swimsuit! lol So this year, I'm gonna be a fun-in-the-sun little momma! I'm really looking forward to swimming! I haven't been swimming since Reagin was about 9 months old!! So I am definitely overdue!

Jana & Heath 50 years from now

I just thought this was too funny not to share! A friend of mine has an Iphone and one of the apps will do age progression. This is us as old people. I love it!!

Don't wanna go nite nite!

Let me start off by saying that Camryn is the BEST baby in the whole wide world!! Okay, okay, I know others think their babies are the best so let me just say she's a better baby than Reagin was. (and I don't say that to be ugly, it's just the truth!) Reagin was, and still is, so dramatic!!! Reagin would cry just to be heard, even if she didn't need anything. Trust me when I say the people across the street could hear her! Camryn, on the other hand, is so laid back and chill. If she cries or whines, she NEEDS something! She doesn't cry just to be heard. Okay, so part of this BEST baby stuff is the fact that we have always been able to put her in her bed when it's time to go nite nite and she just goes to sleep. No fuss, nothing. She's been doing this ever since she was born, for the last 9 1/2 months. She sleeps all night and is really an amazing little one. She has figured out how to pop her head up and see out of her crib. She's been doing that for about a month now. Well, last night I put her in her bed, turned on her night light and her lullaby music and headed out of her room after kissing her goodnight. As soon as I started closing her door she started crying. Very unusual. So I went back in and checked on her & put her back on her back. (she had flipped over to her tummy & was looking out of her crib at me) So then I made sure she was coverd up, had her paci and headed out again. As soon as I got to her door she popped back up and started crying again. I'm thinking "Oh Camryn, you don't do this!!!" lol So after a few times of back and forth I decided I was not going to start this with her every night. All it takes it one or two nights of doing that for her to KEEP doing it. That is how Reagin was. So the last time I went over to calm her down she looked up at me and started smiling... and then giggling... which of course I thought was so precious but at the same time, I guess because she's the 2nd baby, I knew what she was doing. So I had to resist going over to check on her and just walk away. She cried for a little bit, maybe 5 minutes, and then she fell asleep. She slept all night like she usually does. So I am praying that was just a one time thing, and if it isn't, I'm praying that she grows out of this stage ASAP! It's been a long time since we had a little one fight going to sleep!

Happy Wednesday!! :)

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom,

I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,

I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,

I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

She wants FOOD!

Last night I fed Camryn a jar of baby food and then tried to get her to drink her 4 oz of formula. She drank about 1 oz and then started pushing it away. I tried several times to get her to drink it and she just didn't want it. So I got her out of her highchair and we went and sat at Reagin's table with her while she finished up eating her dinner, spaghettios. Camryn kept looking at Reagin's bowl of food and trying to grab it. It was obvious she wanted some. So I figured, what the heck, why not? So I got one single spaghettio ring on the spoon and as soon as I got about half way to her mouth with it she was ready for it, mouth wide open. So she took the bite... and... LOVED IT! She wanted more... and more... and more... She is so over the formula... she wants FOOD!!!

She has tried and likes several foods so far. Of course all the baby foods like peaches, bananas, apple sauce, pears, blueberry, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, mac n cheese, turkey & rice, country veggies, etc. She also loves banana oatmeal, rice cereal, yogurt, cheerios & ICE CREAM! :) Can't wait til she has at least 1 tooth so we can start trying more foods. I think I'm going to scramble her an egg this weekend and see how she likes that. I think, just maybe, she won't be a picky eater like her sister. Fingers crossed!!!

Spring Cleaning

ALL we did this weekend was clean!!!! (other than Reagy’s dance & Cam’s 9 month check up Sat morning) Heath mowed, weed eated, etc. the front and back yard and we cleaned top to bottom, and everything in between! Although I would normally say we don’t have a big house, after this weekend I would have to say WE DO!! Cleaning 2,000sq ft in a day and a half was a beating!! If it didn’t need it so bad, we could have split it up between 2 weekends but once we got going, there was nothing stopping us!! Heath deep-cleaned all 3 bathrooms while I dusted every single thing that could be dusted, even window seals and picture frames hanging on the walls. Then I vacuumed, organized stuff in the kitchen cabinets, swept the floor & scrubbed the kitchen. Just picking up all the toys everywhere was a chore all by itself! I also swept up all the dirt in the sunroom and picked up all the toys. Boston and Reagin got dirt everywhere in that room a few weeks ago and it got into everything!!! Every toy I picked up I had to shake dirt out of. Then I went one by one and swept cobwebs out of the window seals and corners of the room. That took FOREVER!! We just don't use the room yet, so it gets dirty and doesn't get much attention. As soon as we can get it tranformed into our PLAYROOM, it will stay clean! There might be toys everywhere, but no cobwebs & dirt!!

It was a great work out & my house is clean... for now! LOL

Kyle, Brenda, Christian, Mini, Pinky & Max came over yesterday evening and we ordered pizza and hung out for a while. That was so nice! Not planned but my brother called about 11:00 and said he got off at 3:00 and wanted to know what we were doing because he & the kids wanted to come have dinner with the Dunns… which just meant ordering pizza! lol I loved it though! I got to cheat by eating pizza and hang out with fam & friends in our CLEAN house!!! Gotta love that!

Camryn Michele Dunn - 8 months old

Many thanks to Allison! She captured Camryn's personality to a tee!

Easter 2010

Saturday we dyed Easter eggs. This is something we always did growing up and I wanted to keep the tradition going with my girls too. Reagin was fascinated!

Sunday morning the girls' discovered the Easter bunny came all the way to Longview and left them baskets full of goodies!

Then we headed to church in our Sunday best.

After church they had an Easter egg hunt. Reagin had a blast while Camryn just played with the grass she was sitting in! lol

After the egg hunt we went back to my Grandparents house and had a nice Easter lunch. Since I have been trying so hard to eat healthy and have been doing such a good job, I gave myself the day off. And it was heaven! We had brisket, ham, potato salad, pea salad, baked beans, mac n cheese, broccoli & cheese, deviled eggs and rolls. DELISH!!

So, funny story about my birthday cake. My mom has always made a bunny cake at Easter and the few years that my birthday has fallen on Easter, or close to it, my birthday cake is a bunny cake. This is the cutest cake you have ever seen! So, my mom and Reagin decorated the cake, complete with coconut "fur" and candy eyeballs. It was precious! So as we were getting ready Sunday morning, one of my mom's dogs decided she would help herself to the cake since no one was paying any attention. So, I discovered it, and it was sad! She ate its eyeballs, half of its bowtie, and licked icing off the ears. It was ruined! So I assured my mom it was no big deal and at least she and Reagin got to decorate it together, etc. So she said she would just pick up a cake at Brookshires before we ate lunch and all would be good. Well, Brookshires was closed so my mom had to make due with what the local Ma & Pop store, Crumps, had to offer. She came back with a frozen cherry cobbler and a frozed German chocolate cake. It was actually really good, so the day was saved! :) Mamaw put some plastic eggs around it and made it purdy for me! :) Too cute!

So after all the food and cake we headed back to Rowlett, about a 2 1/2 hour drive. When we got there Reagin & Camryn had Easter baskets to dig into from their Mimi, Nana & Pinky (Heath's Mom, G-ma & sister, Heather) They got tons of clothes, shoes, toys & candy. (They aren't spoiled at all!) Their cousin, Noah, was there too and Reagin just loves Noah so much!

So after all that, it was bedtime and even though Reagin was wired, Heath, Camryn & I were exhausted so it was most definitely bedtime! It was a wonderful, beautiful weekend spent with family & friends!

My 29th Birthday

Okay, so I know I'm wayyy late gettin this done, but better late than never, right?

So, last Thursday I met my Mom in Canton after work to give her the girls so we could go out Friday night with friends for my birthday dinner and drinks and then meet them out in Longview on Saturday.

I had a nicely decorated desk at work and a yummy chocolate cake from my sweet co-workers. Thanks!!!

Birthday dinner was at Nico's, one of our new favorite Mexican food places. They have excellent food and from the way I was feeling Friday night, lots of yummy drinks & shots too. lol We had a group of about 24 people and it was so much fun!!
